This is the new generation Ripple Tank System from STE. This system is a result
of an extensive re-design program where every facet of the Ripple Tank has been
evaluated with a view to providing teachers with a superb system at an exceptional
price. The major component of the system is the tank itself. This is a one piece
injection moulding which incorporates bollards around the beach, these bollards
break up the back reflection from the beach and therefore substantially reduce
interference. The adjustment for all movable components is effected via an
innovative friction grip design which enhances adjustment and provides greater
accuracy. The Rippler control is a hand held remote control unit. This negates the
need to use the cumbersome method of adjusting the output of a power supply for
motor speed control as the power source is a standard AA battery contained in the
hand held unit. This also gives greater accuracy of speed of the rippler motor.
The whole system is supplied in a flat box designed to fit in to a laboratory draw for
safe storage when not in use. The vacuum formed base of the box allows the
speedy checking of components at the end of the lesson.
